This exhibition commemorated the 100th anniversary of Stephane Mallarme' s publication of "Un Coup de Des." Nobel also lent his own works and pieces from his collection. The second Text Festival was a celebration of international poetics and language in art. With a focus on performance and sound art, the event features exhibitions and commissions from some of the world's leading practitioners and some great new talents. Geof Huth is featured in an exhibition Signs of the Times with archival mataerial and museum objects and in a performance in a UK premier. Ron Silliman performed his premier event with other poets. John Sharkey's poetry film event was held in Bristol, England. Houedard writes in his introductory statement, "these texts consist of words and silences--any 2 words phrases or silences are connected directly thru what the film is about -- so the words &c can be taken in ANY ORDER." Houedard also writes in the text "CONCRETE POEMS ARE THINGS / LOOK THRU CLEANFORMS TO POETMIND CONCRETE PEOMS...CONCRETE POEMS CAN BE TOYS OR INSTSRUMENTS...CONCRETE IS AFTERBEAT" -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Dick Turpin was a British bandit in the 1800's who was considered to be the "Gentleman of the Road" but who actually was a thug and petty thief. On being sentenced to death, he delivered an eloquent 25 minute speech in a calm voice with the noose around his neck. Fencott's narrative element is intuitive rather than actual autobiography. Steve McCaffery recorded the performance. Also designated No.3 in Underwhich Audiograph Series. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
