This book is not listed in Acquaviva's Bientot les Lettristes (1946-1977). This book is not listed in Acquaviva's Bientot les Lettristes (1946-1977) although he was well aware of it. Indeed, in a personal communication to the Sackners, he pointed out that Isou considered all copies 'false' unless they were signed by him; the Sackner copy therefor is 'false.' Further, an internet search of databases revealed no copies including the Getty Research Institute Research Library Catalog that lists cours No.1 and No.2. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

This book was a gift to the Sackners from Rachid when they vistied his studio with their grandson Albert Behar, who also served as their translator. The volume traces the ancient Koraichi family ancestors from the eighth century in Algiers and evoked the illustrated work for the tapestries for the installation. Explainations are given for the symbolism of each tapistry. Pages are uncut. This copy includes one drawing by Lemaitre and two drawings by Altmann in the beginning of the book that were added to the pages after its publication. Les Dessins Trans-Conscients de Stephane Mallarme: A Propos de la Typographie de Un Coup de Des / Fraenkel, Ernest ; Mallarme S., 1960
The left sided portion of the book consist of bound pages that focuses on Mallarme's typographic treatment of the poem. The right side of the book consists of a portfolio of nine, unbound, folded prints which contains 68 plates each related to a page of Mallarme's Un Coup de Des. The interpretations are similar in concept to Marcel Broodthaers work (also held by the Sackner Archive) in which each phrase of the poem is cancelled with a solid black rectangle. In Fraenkel's interpretation, from the 1897 Cosmopolis version, the spaces between the cancelled text are reconstructed with hand-drawn markings. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
