The drawings that depict the text of the Haiku poems are also illustrated in an abstract manner by Lalou. They were executed on heavy Fabriano paper. The large bold brush strokes that are done on several pages undoubtedly relate to Japanese calligraphers. Homage to George Lott, 1997
George Lott was an American soldier in WWII whose wounding in battle was published by Life magazine. Because of this publicity, he received over 3000 letters. Baroni's homage consists of collaging two paper, addressed envelopes from mail he received to each of 10 pages and both covers and adding band-aids or adhesive tape to them. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Hommage a Kurt Schwitters / Trinkewitz, Karel; Sackner MA; Sackner RK., 1982
Trinkewitz attached two panels of found papers and papercards from magazines, books and advertisements etc., cut to the size of match book covers, to a board collaged with an undecipherable, linear fragmented text with bold typefaces. These elements include images of Schwitters, Trinkewitz, Kolar, beautiful women, envelopes, receipts, maps, magazine pages, stamps etc. The verso has a signature dated 1984 at the Visual Poetry Conference in Saarbruchen, Germany. A photocopied group photographic portrait depicts Ruth and Marvin Sackner among poets at a visual poetry conference held in Sarrbrucken, West Germany in 1984. This work was exhibited in the Agnes Scott College Gallery, Atlanta, in January 2001. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
Hong Kong Tales, 1996
Wolf writes that "the Asian appearance of the text is created by overprinting a German text, inspired by stories told by the artist's German speaking son, who lives as a journalist in Hong Kong." Five distinct, folded booklets are fastened to the front (black) and back (red) covers; there is no spine. Horndeski Sampler # 1, 1993
This work was commissioned by the Sackner Archive to include a sampler of Horndeski's work. The theme is a couple who appear on the top of the box reading in their library with the sky outside their windows reminiscent of Van Gough's Starry Night. The top of the box depicts a fragment of a music score by Vivaldi and the sides calligraphic text and diagrams on Michaelson's theory of light and distance; all paintings are landscapes that relate to the couple's activities near their house. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
