Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This micro-collection contains the Mark Derry Culture Jamming Archive, including a variety of zines, clippings, publications, audiovisual materals, and unpublished works from and/or by Mark Dery relating to the late-20th-, early 21st-century phenominon of culture jamming. Culture jamming is a subversive form of grassroots cultural activism meant to critique capitalism and consumerism, often through the use of irony and humor. Dery provided Special Collections with a variety of comments and notes, which are included for many of the individually listed files. These comments vary from contextual information to detailed index lists.
