Nineteen handmade books, drawings and objects are placed randomly within the leather formed feet. the bottom of the feet are hand lettered" Souls that walk Souls that talk." The project was started in 1979; the drawings are dated 1983. The theme of the work is the daily rural life of the Afro-American community including the papermakers at a community center, animal sketches, people and a leather object shaped like Noah's ark.
