The word "eat" is printed 19 times in a center column. On the top line, The letters "cr" and "ion" are added to form creation. In the middle of the column, "procr" and "ion" are added to spell procreation. At the bottom "d" and "h" are added to state death. Jacoby writes on the verso of the frame, "One definition of EAT: To corrode; waste or wear away. Life cycles are birth - sex - death.
