futura: Galerie Legitime. No.26 / Robert Filliou., 1968
A note states, "A gift from Robert Filliou who in 1962 carried tiny works of art inside his hat baptized Galerie Legitime." The diagram folded along its lines forms a hat. This work was loaned to the Museum of Modern Art NYC for their exhibition, "Eye on Europe: prints, books & mutiples 1960 to now." For this exhibition, one copy was folded into a hat and stored in a papercard folder with a label. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
Research on the Origin / Filliou, Robert., 1974
The references in the booklet explain Filliou's search into the physical and metaphysical origins of the universe with quotations from texts of astronomy, astrophysics, Watson and Cricks' DNA discovery, Darwin and Tao Te Ching. The scroll is Filliou's interpretation of these universal themes using squares, rectangles, dots, arrows, numbers. This is a facsimile reproduction of a handwritten manuscript that has the appearance of being an original. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
