Scope and Contents
This essay attempts to define and clarify the role of the artist in the Postmodern and electronic art world. The author writes that " the dialogue between artists will become essential to the task of identifying the evolving possibilities for art in the future...Quality in art can no longer be dismissed, and it can no longer be confused with privilege. It is a matter of a heightened sensory cognition...Being an artist today is to offer a purposeful and deeply intuitive resistance to the enormous influx of cultural programming that has become an assumed liability on the information superhighway."
